ONE DAY NATIONAL SEMINAR " SCIENCE TODAY "

The Post Graduate Department of Mathematics organised one day national seminar on the topic " Science Today " on 29th November, 2014 in Dev Samaj College Auditorium.

GROUP DISCUSSION AND LECTURE ON SAVING ENERGY AND PROTECTION OF ENVIRONMENT

A general lecture on " Saving Energy and Protection of Environment " was delivered by Prof. S. S. Sandhu, Head Math Department. The students were made aware of saving electricity and water in the home. The people should avoid excess use of pesticide and fertilizers and should not put factory water in the rivers and canals. The people should concentrate on green plantation to protect the environment from pollution. The pollution board should take proper steps to avoid pollution. We should also avoid ourselves from sound pollution. The youth can play a very important role to save energy and protected the environment.

SEMINAR ON DIFFERENT TOPICS OF MATHEMATICS

The Post Graduate Department of Mathematics organised a seminar for  M.Sc. - I and M.Sc. - II students on 18th November, 2014 in Parents Lounge of Science Block on different topic of Mathematics.

VISIT TO BLIND HOME

The Teachers of  Ramanujan department of Mathematics along with students of Post Graduate classes visited Blind Home on 30^th October, 2014.  DSCW always remain in forefront to improve the lives of people affected by vision loss. We provide resources and support directly to blind and visually impaired people. The students of department donated some eatables and commodities of their basic needs to the blinds. Blinds see the world as dark but see their hopes, future and aspirations as bright. The interaction helped students to know more about their life style. We always donate generously for such noble cause.

ONE DAY NATIONAL SEMINAR

Mrs. Sonam Maini presented a research paper titled " To Assess the Effectiveness of Guided Imagery Techniques to Reduce Stress in Newly Joined Bank Employees of Ferozepur City " in UGC sponsored one day National Seminar held at PCM SD college for women, Jalandhar on 27th September, 2014.

QUIZ CONTEST

A quiz is a form of game, in which the players (as individuals or in teams) attempt to answer questions correctly. It is a game to test the knowledge about a certain subject.To keep learning, to enjoy challenge and to tolerate ambiguity, A Quiz Competition was arranged for the Post Graduate students of Mathematics on 8th, September, 2014 and Winners of quiz contest were honored with Momentos and Medals.

WORKSHOP ON NUMERICAL AND COMPUTATIONAL TECHNIQUES IN ENGINEERING

Mr. Sanjay Gupta attended a DST sponsored Faculty Development Programme - cum - workshop on the topic " Numerical and Computational Techniques in Engineering " from 19th May - 25th May, 2014 organised by Mathematics Department of D.A.V. Institute of Engineering and Technology (DAVIET), Jalandhar.

SCHOLARSHIP CAMP BY INSPIRE

The extra ordinary intelligent students of Post - Graduation Department of Mathematics were selected and sent to the " Inspire - 2014 " camp organised by the department of science and technology of Baba Banda Singh Bahaduar Engineering College, Fatehgarh Sahib, Punjab. The students were encouraged and were happy to attend the camp. It was a good way to motivate the students who participated and a good inspiration for them.

17th PUNJAB SCIENCE CONGRESS

Mr. Nishant Juneja presented a paper titled " A holling type - II SIS predator prey model with disease in prey only " in 17th Punjab Science Congress 2014 held on 14th - 16th February, 2014 at Punjab Technical University (PTU) Campus, Kapurthala. The paper was also nominated for " Young Scientist Award " in Category C.
