TREE PLANTATION

Department of Mathematics launched an extensive Plantation Programme at Mother Teresa Home, Ferozepur on 5th October, 2017. The students and teachers selected the empty places to plant saplings in a well-organized way. The saplings were supplied by the local municipality corporation. In order to restore the eco-balance of the environment, this drive was taken with all seriousness. Anyway, participants were highly enthusiastic to make it a big success. The students planted saplings, and fenced them and watered the plants. Every step of the programme was appreciated by the representatives of the Mother Teresa Home and the local forest department officials. The programme created a great stir among the general public too. At the end of the programme the Department held a seminar on Advantages of Tree Plantation.

Post Graduate Department of Mathematics organised a visit to Mother Teresa Home along with students on 5th October, 2017. DSCW always remain in forefront with amazing work for the poorest of the poor. We provide resources and support directly to needy people. Students of our department donated commodities and eatables. Its good to see place like this where people are trying to help and take care of others.










TEACHER'S DAY CELEBRATION


THE POST GRADUATE DEPARTMENT OF MATHEMATICS CELEBRATED TEACHER'S DAY EVERYWHERE, IN MRMORY OF DR. SARVEPALLI RADHA KRISHNAN, THE FORMER PRESIDENT OF INDIA ( 1962 - 1967 )  ON 5th SEPTEMBER, 2017. THE STUDENTS OF THE DEPARTMENT PAID RESPECT TO THE TEACHERS COMMUNITY. THE TEACHER ALSO DELIVERED THEIR VIEWS ABOUT EDUCATION TO THE STUDENTS AND ALSO PRAYED FOR THEIR FUTURE SUCCESS. IT WAS WONDERFUL ENVENT FOR THE DEPARTMENT.










LIBRARY ORIENTATION PROGRMME


THE STUDENTS OF M.SC. - I (MATHEMATICS )VISITED THE SCIENCE BLOCK LIBRARY ON 21st AUGUST, 2017 FOR THE ORIENTATION PROGRAMME UNDER THE SUPERVISION OF PROF. SHIPA NANDA AND PROF. POONAM HANDA OF MATHEMATIACS DEPARTMENT. THE STAFF MEMBER OF THE LIBRARY MRS. CHETNA GUIDED THE STUDENTS ABOUT THE RULE AND REGULATIONS OF THE LIBRARY. THE STUDENTS OF THE DEPARTMENT WERE MADE AWARE OF THE FACILITIES AVAILABLE IN THE LIBRARY ESPECIALLY ELECTRONIC RESOURSES AND ONLINE CATALOGUE SERVICES. THIS VISIT WAS KNOWLEDGE GAINING EXPERIENCE FOR THE STUDENTS.

WORKSHOP ON INFORMATION ON MATHEMATICAL SYMBOLS AND NOTATIONS


A WORKSHOP ON "INFORMATION  ON MATHEMATICAL SYMBOLS AND NOTATIONS" WAS ORGANISED BY POST GRADUATE DEPARTMENT OF MATHEMATICS IN COLLABORATION WITH COMMERCE DEPARTMENT ON 29th AUGUST, 2017. PROF. SHILPA NANDA FORM THE DEPARTMENT OF MATHEMATICS DELIVERED A LECTURE ON THE USE OF MATHEMATICAL SYMBOLS. IT WAS VERY VALUABLE TALK ESPECIALLY FOR THE COMMERCE STUDENTS AS THEY WERE NOT AWARE OF THESE SYMBOLS WHICH ARE FREQUENTLLY USED IN THEIR STUDIES. THE TEACHERS OF DEPARTMENTS OF MATHEMATICS AND COMMERCE ALSO ATTEND THE LECTURE. IT WAS VERY USEFUL TALK.

A VISIT TO LEPROSY HOME


THE RAMANUJAN DEPARTMENT OF MATHEMATICS ORGANISED THE CHARITY FOR THE LEPROSY PEOPLE SITUATED AT BHAGI ROAD ALONG WITH THE STUDENTS OF M.SC. - I (MATHEMATICS) UNDER THE SUPERVISION OF PROF. SANJAY GUPTA, PROF. SHILPA NANDA, PROF. POONAM HANDA ON 21-08-2017. THE LEPROSY MISSION IS AN INTERNATIONAL CHARITY WORKING TOWARDS THE ERADICTION OF THE CAUSES AND CONSEQUENCES OF THE LEPROSY.

WORKSHOP ON SELF GROOMING MAKEUP TECHNIQUES


Post Graduate Department of Mathematics organised two days workshop on "Self Grooming Makeup Techniques" with collaboration of post Graduate Department of Cosmotology on 18th - 19th August, 2017. Proper grooming and professional appearance are important to gain not just positive impression but also respect in the work place. Mrs. Kulwinder kaur trained the students about makeup techniques. Students actively participated in this workshop and learnt a lot of techniques from her.

WORKSHOP ON INFORMATION OF BANK TRANSACTIONS


POST GRADUATE DEPARTMENT OF MATHEMATICS ORGANISED A WORKSHOP ON 11-8-2017 IN COLLABORATION WITH COMMERCE DEPARTMENT ON " INFORMATION OF BANK TRANSACTIONS". THE INFORMATION WAS GIVEN ON THE TOPIC OF NET BANKING, DIFFERENCE BETWEEN DRAFT AND CHEQUE BY PROF. ROOPKAMAL CHAWLA. THE STUDENTS ACTIVELY PARTICIPATED IN THIS WORKSHOP. THIS LECTURE WAS VERY BENEFICAL TO THE STUDENTS. MANY TEACHERS PARTICIPATED AND TOOK PART IN THE DISCUSSION.

SEVEN DAYS ORIENTATION COURSE


Faculty members of Department of Mathematics Prof. S. S. Sandhu, Prof. Nishant Juneja, Prof. Sanjay Gupta, Prof. Shilpa Nanda attended seven days orientation programme held on 21st April to 27th April, 2017 on the theme " RETHINKING THE IDEA OF EDUCATION AND PADAGOGY IN THE TIMES OF TECHNOLOGICAL REVOLUTION " under Faculty Development Programme . The output of this course was very fruitful for all teachers. At the end, they got many more new idea in education and teaching. Day - wise schedule was as follows :

The students and teachers selected the empty places to plant saplings in a well-organized way. The saplings were supplied by the local municipality corporation.
