“Those who cast the votes decide nothing, those who
count the votes decide everything.” ---Josef Stalin
In
order to encourage more young voters to take part in the political
process, Government of India has decided to celebrate January 25
every year as "National Voters' Day" (राष्ट्रीय
मतदाता दिवस).
It started from January 25, 2011 to mark Commission's foundation day. It has
been commonly observed that new voters, who have attained the age of 18 years,
were showing less interest in getting enrolled in the electoral rolls. "In
order to effectively deal with this problem, the Department of Mathematics has
decided to take up a vigorous exercise to arrange an awareness seminar on 2nd
Feb, 2017 for all the young voters.
