D. E. A. D (DRUGS END ALL DREAMS)

The Post Graduate Department organized  drug awareness seminar on the theme D.E.A.D (Drugs end all Dreams) under the guidance of our worthy Principal Dr. Mrs. Madhu Prashar. The senior buddy of the seminar Mrs. Shilpa Nanda awared the students about the drug addiction, its adverse effects and also explained some tips about its prevention.

Drugs are chemicals that change the way of working of  person's body and mind. Drugs are not good for health as they have many side effects and damage our brain, heart and other important organs. Some of the illegal drugs are marijuana, ecstasy, cocaine, LSD, crystal meth and heroin. Drugs are consumed in different ways, by inhaling, taking by mouth, injecting, applying on skin, and smoking. When a person is addicted to a drug, the drug becomes so important that the person cannot manage without it.

Drugs get us involved in many illegal activities such as crime, theft, etc. It leads to sexual assault and accidents. Young people use drugs because of curiosity, peer pressure, boredom, and finance problem and for pleasure. Drug abuse prevention begins with education, spreading the word regarding the dangers of drugs to oneself and to the community. These programs are just the beginning. The information provided is most effective when it is followed up with continued support. Drug prevention programs seek to involve the family, community or workplace in the prevention process. To be effective, communities need to sustain the progress. This often requires continued leadership and financial support.
